When i came home the other day and flipped the switch and the light was working.

I m having issues with several ge zwave switches and dimmers in my house. I have tried the exclusion method i tried resetting the switch and then i did a forceful removal of the device. Tonight i tried the light switch again and no light. With a smart switch the power comes from the switch and flows through the bulb to neutral in the light box.

This is not compatible with our c by ge smart switch. You could take a meter reading on the switch screws. When i got home the garage lights were not on. Power cycle all c by ge light bulbs by turning them off at the power source for 20 seconds wait 60 seconds for the bulbs to reconnect check to confirm this worked by giving a voice command or by controlling your lights in the google home app solution 3.
