If not it is not a standing pilot gas valve. One other thermocouple issue make sure after turning gas valve to pilot and removing cover plate that the thermocouple is not buried in rust that can affect the temperature that it sees and cause it to not work correctly. I plan on writing a troubleshooter for this type of ignition but for not please use my 24 7 help line. At times it can be getting enough heat to let the pilot gas flow but not enough to open the gas control valve for the main burner.

Ensure you only hold the switch down once the pilot light has ignited to reduce the chances of any gas accumulating again. If the pilot doesn t light on the first attempt wait a few minutes and repeat the procedure this time depressing the reset button for 45 to 60 seconds. Turn the gas to pilot press and hold the reset switch for one minute and hold a flame to the pilot light at the same time. If there is a reset button on your furnace turn the valve to the pilot position and hold a flame to the dedicated pilot gas tube while pushing the button for about 30 seconds.

Where do i go from here aside from calling a repair company if the gas is on but there is no flame get out of.
